What is a Louisiana
Project Learning Tree Certified School?
A Louisiana PLT Certified
School is a special school in which
- at least fifty percent of
the school's teachers have participated in a PLT workshop,
- the teachers have prepared
an original project showcasing their PLT use throughout
the school year, and
- the faculty has identified
one of its members to serve as a PLT coordinator.
How Does A School
Qualify?
To be considered a Project Learning
Tree Certified School, the school must complete the nomination
process. This process can be initiated by contacting a PLT
facilitator, PLT state steering committee member or the state
coordinator. Nominations
can be made at any time. Working
with this resource person, the principal and PLT school coordinator
complete the nomination form and provide the following documentation:
- a list of teachers who have
completed a 6 hour PLT workshop and dates each attended;
- pictures, videos, student work, or
other artifacts showing how PLT was used during the school year;
and
- cover
sheet providing school name, address, phone number, e-mail
(optional), school coordinator, principal, and brief description
of the on-going project.
