ODC are unique environmental learning
labs created by children for children.
These classrooms become extensions of the indoor classroom.
They make the textbooks come alive and motivate students to
seek more information about the topic.
As students use their ODC, they begin to see patterns and
relationships which increases their understanding of complex
concepts. In addition, the ODC is easy to use and readily available for
teachers. It can be
used for those unexpected teachable moments, planned units of class
study or supervised individual projects.
- Extension. Of indoor classroom
- Outdoors, the books become alive
and students experience motivated learning experiences thru
their use of their senses
- As students use their ODC they
begin to see patterns and relationships between books themselves
and their environment and have a greater desire to learn.
ODC expands the learning environment,
requires no special permit, no transportation, lunches, shifting of
class schedules and is immediately available for continuous study,
for an unexpected observation and for supervised individual study
projects.
