TEACHER COMMENTS

I have a new respect for the efforts the foresters are making to protect the environment, and renewing the forests.  Not only will I spread the knowledge that I have learned in my personal life, I will also be sure to educate my students with this information.  We will be sure to focus more on the forestry industry.  I know the children are going to be interested because so many families are involved in logging.

I enjoyed touring the processing facilities and learning about the different job opportunities available.  I have a better understanding about the uses of the state and national forest systems and reforestation.

I appreciate the value of the forest and all the people who make our future in Louisiana successful.  I plan to communicate more with local people who are involved in the forestry industry.  I also intend to bring them into the classroom to develop the students awareness of timber now and in the future. 

I never realized how important it is to manage our forests or that forests are even crops.  I also learned about the responsible ways to keep up with society=s demand for forest products.
