• Melissa Whittington named LA PLT Outstanding Educator
  
  
• 721 pre-service teachers certified in 25 workshops representing: University of Louisiana - Lafayette, University of Louisiana - Monroe, Southeastern Louisiana University - Hammond, Louisiana State University - Baton Rouge, Louisiana State University - Alexandria, McNeese State University, Nichols State University, Our Lady of Holy Cross College. All pre-service educator workshops were funded by U.S.F.S. Natural Resource Conservation Education program grant.
  
  
• Received a NRCE grant to train pre-service teachers in the fall of 2001 and the spring of 2002.
  
  
• Participated in the PLT/Tree Farm silent auction fundraiser at the LFA annual meeting. Proceeds were shared by PLT and the Tree Farm.

• Conducted the fifth annual Louisiana Forestry Teachers Tour. Twenty-nine teachers from across Louisiana attended the tour.
  
  
• 18,511 educators trained in PLT since 1987.
