What
is Project Learning Tree?
Project
Learning Tree is an award-winning
environmental education
program designed for teachers and other educators working with
students in pre-K through grade 12.
Since its inception in 1973, Project Learning Tree has emerged
as one of the countrys leading and most widely-used environmental
programs in the U.S. and abroad. PLT is people. It is a network
of 3,000 grassroots volunteers and over 100 state coordinators
that work in conjunction with teachers, schools, state agencies,
foresters, businesses as well as civic organizations, museums,
nature centers, and youth groups to provide workshops and in-service
programs. Over 500,000 educators have been trained to use PLT
materials, and more than 25 million students have been reached
in the United States, the Trust Territories, Canada, Sweden,
Finland, Japan, Brazil and Mexico.
